Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO Office in Vietnam visited some tourist attractions in Lang Son Geopark
On February 8, 2025, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam visited a number of tourist attractions in Lang Son Geopark on the occasion of the delegation's attendance at the opening ceremony of the Peach Blossom Festival on February 7, 2025. The delegation visited Na Duong Lake Lifetime Window Site (Na Duong township, Loc Binh district); the sites: Dong Dang Heaven Mother Goddess Temple, Dong Dang Frontier Defense Temple, Thuy Mon Dinh (Dong Dang township, Cao Loc district). At the sites, tour guides introduced unique geological and cultural of the Lang Son Geopark area.

During the trip between sites, the leader of Lang Son Provincial Agency for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion discussed with Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, Chief Representative of UNESCO Office to Vietnam about the province's active development and promotion of 38 tourist sites in Lang Son Geopark and the distinct of Lang Son Geopark associated with the development of tourism types (Lang Son Geopark has a majestic natural geological and geomorphological terrain, with about 200 caves, many beautiful waterfalls and sinkholes, containing countless interesting and attractive things. This will be a resource for the development of Geotourism such as caving, sport climbing, paragliding, trekking, waterfall crossing, sinkholes, SUB rowing). The leader of Lang Son Provincial Agency for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion requested the UNESCO Office in Vietnam to continue to pay attention to, support and advise on the activities of building and developing Lang Son Geopark (based on the potential strengths of the Geopark) to effectively manage and operate the Global Geopark Title in the coming time (the Agency plans to develop and submit a dossier to request UNESCO to recognize the Na Duong Lake Lifetime Window Site as an International Geoheritage); introduce and dispatch experts in the fields of Geoparks, cultural heritages and tourism to Lang Son Geopark; introduce projects related to the Geopark that the UNESCO Office is implementing in Vietnam; connect Lang Son Geopark with some UNESCO Global Geoparks that have similar potential strengths (such as potential for developing geotourism, caving) or UNESCO Global Geoparks that have strengths in preserving and promoting heritage values (craft villages, intangible cultural heritages), developing products with the Global Geopark Logo.
In the coming time, Lang Son Provincial Agency for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion will continue to keep in touch, consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam in building and developing Lang Son Geopark, especially building and submitting the dossier to request UNESCO to recognize Na Duong Lake Lifetime Window Site as an International Geoheritage.
